IXP Access

If you have a IXP VM, your IXP port will be delivered as a virtual interface on your VM.
If you have a Dedicated/Colocated Server, your IXP port will be delivered to Interface or passed as VLAN to your server.

Port is delivered as a virtual interface on your VM or Port/VLAN on your server, so you can access it remotely via your VM or server.
You can also create a tunnel from your VM/server to your local network and access the IXP port from there.

No, you need a public ASN to join an IXP. We can help you get a public ASN if you don't have one. Please check our LIR Services Page for more details.

A physical port is a dedicated connection from IXP fabric to our switch or your server with us. A VLAN is a virtual LAN that is created on the switch and is connected to your server/VM via a trunk port.
VLAN is allows to share the same physical port with other customers, so it's more cost-effective than a physical port.
However, it may have some performance impact due to sharing the same physical port with other customers.

Some IXPs require permission from the IXP to connect to their fabric, which is called Letter of Authorization (LoA).

Some IXPs require KYC verification prior to issue a LoA, which is called assisted LoA. We will assist you to get the LoA from the IXP, but you need to contact the IXP directly and follow their procedures.
Others IXPs do not require additional verification for resold ports, which is called included LoA. We are handling the LoA process for you and get you connected.

AMS-IX BNC stands for Bright Networks Club. It's a special type of port offered by AMS-IX that allows smaller networks to connect to the AMS-IX fabric over authrorized reseller.
BNC ports are delivered as VLANs and have some limitations compared to regular ports, such as lower bandwidth option. However, they still provide access to the AMS-IX peering LAN and can be a good option for smaller networks or those with limited budgets.
